Review polish application standards for state board-style evaluation: nail preparation, brush loading, base coat placement, red polish control, even color coverage, sidewall and cuticle margins, top coat shine, free-edge control, and cleanup. Instructor demonstrates acceptable and unacceptable finishes, then students complete timed polish drills on practice hands or tips. Include midpoint photo/visual critique, correction practice, and final finish evaluation using a mock scoring checklist.
Requirements
Date/time: 2026-10-07, 6:00 PM-10:00 PM. Bring base coat, red polish, top coat, remover, cotton or lint-free wipes, cleanup brush or orangewood stick, towels, practice hand or nail tips, and polish evaluation checklist. Emphasize margins, coverage, and correction technique. Assessment opportunity: timed polish application score, finish-quality critique, and instructor feedback on cleanup and professional presentation.
